In this dynamic eight-week initiative, researchers embark on a transformative journey, defining value propositions and conducting customer discovery interviews to pinpoint market verticals where their technologies possess the potential to disrupt and establish competitive advantages.

Outcomes:

  • Analysis of customer insights related to hypotheses - validation, further discovery, or pivot
  • Gain an understanding to how customers assess new technology and product ideas into their decision processes.
  • Identify key features customers want in an updated or new product and outline competitive advantages the Lab technology could offer and customer perceived value.

Transforming Postdoctoral Research Innovation into products and application solutions

The University of California / Los Alamos National Laboratory Entrepreneur Postdoc Accelerator is a transformative program designed to empower selected postdocs, guiding them through the pathways with the ultimate goal to transition their innovations into tangible product and application solutions within validated market opportunities.

Outcomes:

  • Discovery of a near-term commercialization outcome for their technology, they validate a use case in the market, customer needs, product strategy, competitive landscape, pricing, financial projections, key partners & business model to illustrate a successful product launch and market penetration.
  • Not quite yet ready for commercialization, they develop a technology roadmap to accelerate technology development, or a minimum viable demonstration required to attract serious customer interest and a commercialization plan.
